Privacy policy
What we collect, why, for how long, and your rights. Version of 27 September 2026.
Data controller
GoodVibes4Trip, publisher of the site (see the legal notice). For any question or request: goodvibesfourtrip@gmail.com.
Contact form
Data: name, email address, subject and message. Purpose: to reply to your request. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in replying to people who write to us (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, Regulation (EU) 2016/679). Recipients: the family who runs the blog, and no one else. Retention: 12 months after receipt, then automatic deletion.
Newsletter
Data: email address, date and time of your consent and of your confirmation. Purpose: to send you our monthly newsletter. Legal basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), given by ticking a box and then confirmed by email (double opt-in). Retention: until you unsubscribe; every email contains a link to unsubscribe immediately, after which the address is deactivated and then deleted. An unconfirmed address is never used.
Audience measurement
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and understand which stories are useful. It is only loaded after you consent in the banner shown on your first visit; refusing is as easy as accepting and changes nothing about how you browse. Your choice is stored for six months in a technical cookie (gv_consent), and you can change it at any time via “Manage cookies” at the bottom of the page. When enabled, Google Analytics sets the _ga and _ga_* cookies (13 months maximum) and sends browsing data to Google Ireland Ltd; the IP address is anonymised. Google’s privacy policy.
We also keep our own visit statistics, without cookies and without Google: the number of page views, of stories read to the end and of newsletter sign-ups, page by page and day by day. These are simple anonymous totals: no IP address or identifier is attached to them, nothing is stored on or read from your browser, and nobody can tell who read what. To block abusive requests, a hashed form of the IP address is used for 10 minutes and is never linked to these statistics. This counting only tells us which stories interest you, so it does not require your consent (audience measurement exempt from consent under the rules of the CNIL, the French data protection authority).
Cookies and local storage
gv_consent: your choice regarding audience measurement (6 months, exempt from consent).csrf-token_*: protects forms against fraudulent submissions; created when the form is sent and deleted straight away (technical).PHPSESSID: technical session, used only for the site’s administration and for showing messages after a form is sent._ga,_ga_*: Google Analytics, only after you consent (13 months).
Maps
Destination pages show an embedded OpenStreetMap map. Loading it sends your IP address to the OpenStreetMap Foundation (privacy policy). No advertising cookies are used on this site.
Server logs and hosting
The server keeps technical logs (IP address, page requested, date) needed for the site’s security and operation, kept for 12 months maximum. The site is hosted by Hostinger International Ltd. (see the legal notice).
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, to object to and restrict its processing, and to data portability, as well as the right to withdraw your consent at any time. Write to us at goodvibesfourtrip@gmail.com; we reply within one month. You can also lodge a complaint with the CNIL (Commission nationale de l’informatique et des libertés), the French data protection authority.
Children
This blog is run by a family. Photos of children that appear on it are published with the agreement of both parents, in compliance with French Law No. 2024-120 of 19 February 2024 on children’s image rights, and are removed on simple request from anyone holding parental authority.
