Restaurant Rafik (Rafiq) – Agadir's must-visit

Place
Restaurant Rafik · Open in Maps
Opening hours
7:15–00:30, daily
Price
60–120 dirhams per person

Our verdict — How often we go: at least 2 visits per trip. Rafik is clearly our HQ in Agadir. From the outside, the restaurant is nothing fancy, but once you sit down you quickly understand why locals and regulars alike keep coming back. The tagines are tender and generous, the grilled meats perfectly seasoned, and the dishes of the day let you discover authentic Moroccan specialities without breaking the bank. The welcome is warm, the service quick, and the atmosphere very family-friendly.

Must try: beef tagine, mixed skewers, Friday couscous.

Les Dinosaures – Spectacular views and a festive atmosphere

Place
Les Dinosaures · Open in Maps
Opening hours
8:00–midnight, daily
Price
100–200 dirhams per person

Our verdict — We go mainly for the view and the atmosphere. The terraces are built on several levels, looking straight down over the Atlantic. On Saturday evenings, an oriental band plays in the restaurant: perfect for a festive family night out. The kids also love the play area. As for the food, you eat well: pizzas, fish, seafood… The cooking is decent but it isn't the best in the area. For a dinner and show facing the ocean, though, it's a safe bet.

Must try: wood-fired pizzas, seafood platter (for the view + atmosphere experience).

“What makes the difference at these places is the welcome and the atmosphere as much as what's on the plate.”

K-Moon – The best value for money in Agadir

Place
K-Moon · Open in Maps
Opening hours
8:00–23:00, daily
Price
40–80 dirhams per person

Our verdict — K-Moon is the perfect place to eat well without breaking the bank. No fancy decor, but simple, hearty and very good Moroccan dishes. The customers are mostly locals, which is always a good sign. The grilled meats are excellent, the salads fresh, and the tagines spot on. The atmosphere is friendly, the service quick and cheerful. It's the ideal no-fuss spot for lunch or dinner.

Must try: mixed grill, chicken tagine with olives, skewers.

Le Petit Pêcheur (Imi Ouaddar) – Seafood with a view

Place
Le Petit Pêcheur · Open in Maps
Opening hours
11:30–23:00, daily
Price
80–150 dirhams per person

Our verdict — For fish lovers, this is a must. Facing the ocean, Le Petit Pêcheur has a superb view over the beach and the waves, especially at sunset, when horses and camels pass along the sand. The seafood is ultra-fresh and very well cooked: grilled, in tagines, a la plancha, fried… Portions are generous and the menu varied. You eat well and enjoy the view: the perfect combo.

Must try: grilled fish platter, octopus tagine, gambas pil pil. Tip: in mid-afternoon, the sun beats down hard through the windows. Choose a table set back a little, or come in the evening to enjoy the sunset.

Taghazout's local eatery – A taste of everyday village life

Place
Local eatery in Taghazout · Open in Maps
Opening hours
12:00–22:00, daily
Price
30–60 dirhams per person

Our verdict — This is a true village eatery: simple tables, no-frills decor, but 100% authentic flavours. The tagines simmer for hours, the prices are unbeatable, and you eat like the locals. You don't come for the decor but for the generous dishes and the friendly atmosphere. It's the perfect place to unwind after a surf session or a walk around the village.

Must try: chicken tagine with preserved lemons, kefta tagine, harira soup.

Le Spot – The surfers' HQ with a view

Place
Le Spot · Open in Maps
Opening hours
8:00–22:00, daily
Price
60–100 dirhams per person

Our verdict — Le Spot is one of our favourite places in Taghazout: a pleasant rooftop, a view over the bustle of the village, warm decor and a mixed crowd (surfers, families, travellers). The menu is varied: pizzas, tagines, Moroccan dishes, pasta… everything is well cooked and the portions are generous. We love settling in there in the evening to watch village life go by below.

Must try: homemade pizzas, squid tagine, honey-almond chicken. Tip: perfect for a relaxed dinner, watching the village go by.

Tafarnout – The best breakfast in the area

Place
Tafarnout · Open in Maps
Opening hours
7:00–14:00, daily
Price
30–60 dirhams per person

Our verdict — Tafarnout is the perfect spot to start the day right. The breakfast is delicious, varied and very affordable. You'll find everything we love: msemen, beghrir, fresh bread, amlou, honey, cheese, as well as more ‘continental’ options. The produce is fresh, the pancakes made to order, and the morning atmosphere calm and pleasant. Ideal before a day of surfing, excursions or the beach.

Must try: full Moroccan breakfast, homemade msemen, fresh fruit juice. Tip: at weekends, come early, it's very popular.

Taghazout's crêpe stands – The perfect sweet break

Place
Crêpe stands in Taghazout · Open in Maps
Opening hours
10:00–22:00, daily
Price
15–40 dirhams per person

Our verdict — These crêpe stands have become an institution in Taghazout. We come for a quick sweet break between surf sessions or after a walk by the sea. The crêpes are made in front of you and generously filled: Nutella, honey, jam, banana, chocolate… often with an ice-cold smoothie on the side. Cheap and very cheerful.

Must try: Nutella-banana crêpe, avocado-date-banana smoothie.

Our other favourite spots

  • Café Mouja – Taghazout: smoothie bowls and healthy food, ocean view, cosy surf vibe.
